April 2024 News from the Ranch
We are heading into calving season this week! Last year do to all the changes, downsizing and weather we didn't have a breeding season in 2022 so no calves in 2023. We did have a breeding season in 2023 so we'll have calves here soon. Its always fun to see the calves zoom around the pasture.
We are still doing on farm slaughter in the Fall with halves and wholes. We will only have bulls this year as we have culls all the cows we plan to for a while. No onry ones left.....haha
Yak meat sales -
2022 was a year of changes. Do to the non availability of local USDA processing for retail cuts. We are no longer selling retail cuts of our yummy yak from any location. We have transitioned to on farm slaughter with half and whole cull cows or butcher bulls available starting in August. Call/text or email to get on the list for a on farm slaughter date.
